Rent to Own

If you’re an individual with insufficient credit or unstable finances, buying a home may not be an option at this time. However, it may be a good idea for you to try a rent to own option. A seller can agree to allow a prospective buyer to rent the property for a set amount of time with a guarantee that the buyer will have the option to buy the property at the end of the period at a price agreed on beforehand. The tenant is never required to purchase the home at the end of the rent to own period. In addition, the seller is obligated not to sell the home or alter the selling price during the rental term. This kind of agreement is also referred to as a lease option.
